World Trigger 2nd Season
On October 8, 2021, it was announced the English dub of season 2 will be released sometime in 2022.[7] On September 28, 2022, Toei Animation announced via Twitter that the dubs of seasons two and three would start streaming on October 4th.
World Trigger 2nd Season
An anime television series adaptation produced by Toei Animation was aired on TV Asahi from October 2014 to April 2016. A second season aired from January to April 2021, and a third season aired from October 2021 to January 2022.
During Jump Festa '21, it was announced that the series would receive a third season.[29] The third season aired from October 10, 2021 to January 23, 2022.[30][31] The opening theme is "Time Factor" (タイムファクター, Taimu Fakutā) by Kami wa Saikoro o Furanai, and the ending theme is "Ungai Dōkei" (雲外憧憬, lit. "Yearning to Be Above the Clouds") by Fantastic Youth.[32]
In North America, Toei announced in July 2015 that they would be producing an English dub with Ocean Productions.[33][19] The series began airing in the United States on Primo TV on January 16, 2017.[34] The English dub became available on Crunchyroll on February 11, 2020.[35] In September 2020, Crunchyroll announced a "home video and electronic sell-through distribution" partnership with Sentai Filmworks to distribute anime titles on home video.[36] The series was released on Blu-ray on June 8, 2021.[37] On October 8, 2021, it was announced the English dub of season 2 will be released in 2022.[38]
The first season of the anime received criticism stemming from Toei's handling of the adaptation. Gabriella Ekens from Anime News Network referred to the production as "incompetent" and "baffling", stating "World Trigger isn't a bad show, but it's a terrible adaptation."[49]
With World Trigger 2nd season officially arriving after a 5-year hiatus, I went back to watch the entire first season consisting of 73 episodes, primed and ready to continue the story. It was refreshing to breathe life in the world once again, following Osamu Mikumo, Yuma Kuga, and Chika Amatori along with the cool Border agent squads in their defence against otherworldly Neighbour invasions.
While light-hearted, the comedic and humourous aspects are a little hit and miss, sometimes unnatural, awkward or random dramatic moments that feel out of context. Generally, though, you can not like or enjoy the world of World Trigger, because of its masterclass concept and immersive story.
The teaser-visual features Kuga Yuma, who participated in B-Rank battles together with Osamu and Chika in the 1st season, triggered his Side Effect and shows a meaningful look. Kaitani Toshihisa handles the character design as well as the 1st season. 041b061a72
